Over the roar of the waves he could hear the bell on the Corsair ship clanging wildly as the vessel was pitched by the storm. It grew dimmer as the waves pulled him farther and farther away from his companions.
He looked for the sailor who had washed over with him, but couldn't see him anymore. His body had already been pulled down under the waves.
