Fastred checked the wagon one last time, tugging at the ropes that secured the tarp over all their worldly possessions. He kept his eyes on his task, ignoring the whispering crowd that had gathered to send them off. It was still considered suspicious behavior for a hobbit to want to leave home and family, to settle in the far fields and unfamiliar trees of the Tower Hills. But for younger sons--or those with adventure in their blood--these new lands had opportunity. And as the new Warden of Westmarch, he'd have the responsibility of looking out for them all.
