"You have icing on your face," Sam said before leaning over to gently kiss the corner of Rosie's mouth, his tongue darting out to catch the smear of sugar. She giggled and turned her head slightly to meet the kiss.
His fingers, rough from his gardening, gently caressed her face before sliding back to tangle in her hair. He sighed into her mouth and pulled back to gaze in her eyes, his own eyes showing his love and devotion.
"Ah, Rosie love," he said, bringing his other hand up to touch her cheek. "You are more beautiful than Elbereth herself."
